When selecting a jacket keep in mind that everyone is different. There are many other factors that affect warmth while outdoors in cold climates. Some of the many factors are humidity/wind chill, level of physical activity (sitting vs hiking or skinning), jacket’s insulation here, and layering here. Our warmth scale, explained here, is a great resource to help you select the right jacket, but ultimately, you should view the jacket as one piece of a system of layers to keep you warm and dry.
